Mindfulness Programs through NCEFT

In the whole of my teaching life, there has never been a more urgent need for programs such as these. There is a way to thrive and grow, not just survive during times of stress.

Each webinar series will be held weekly for 9 weeks. Program fee is $275  per person.

Mindfulness Series for Teachers & Educators

Saturdays, 11am- 12pm
August 29-October 31 (no session on September 5)

Participants will receive a Certificate of Completion to apply toward professional CEUs/PDUs.

Mindfulness Series for Adults Experiencing Stress & Anxiety

Sundays, 11am-12pm August 30-November 1 (no session on September 6)

These webinars will offer tools, practices, and techniques that enable participants to feel a greater sense of stability, strength, calm, and resilience. Participants will learn to connect to their own inner resources to promote clarity and effective coping skills.

Participants will practice and apply these skills and techniques for effectively navigating stress through “mindfulness” – the steady, intentional gathering of a non-judgmental awareness into the present moment in daily life. The community element is an essential part of our healing work together.

What to Expect

Classes will be recorded and available to participants. Tutorials include:

  • Guided mindfulness practices, including downloadable meditations

  • Guided reflective practices and journal exercises

  • Discussion prompts and exercises

  • Pre and post-assessments, resources, and recommendations for enhanced follow-through and carry-over of concepts, practices, and ways of being taught.

Class Format

Brief introductory formal practice, check-in, guided mindfulness practices, didactic teaching of concepts through shared experiences, closing check-in, homework, and announcements.

Learning Objectives

Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Practice the skills of reflective observation, cognitive awareness, and self-regulation as they apply to daily life and discuss and investigate barriers to the development of self-regulatory skills.

  • Investigate the experiential nature of formal mindful awareness practices such as (but not limited) to awareness of breathing, body awareness, formal sitting, yoga, mindful eating, communication, and formal walking practices.

  • Investigate the role of perception in the appraisal and assessment of stress, pain, and illness.

  • Investigate the role of self-responsibility in health-enhancing behaviors.

  • Investigate skills related to self-nourishment.

  • Investigate skills related to body awareness, self-regulation, expressing one’s needs, and the establishment of healthy boundaries.

  • Develop awareness of theoretical and scientific underpinnings of Mindfulness and MBSR from the perspective of the physiological, psychological, and spiritual effects of stress, pain, and illness.
